The 7000 has an ant + amp. remote and then an additional wire labeled wire remote.
I'm not 100% sure what it's for....same with the NC1 and NC2 wires. THe Xenarc documentation is lacking here to help explain what these wires are for.
I've sent an email to Xenarc about the issues.

I ran into the same thing. I've only had my mdt-x7000 in for a day now, and now I'm finding the things I don't like about it. I initially plugged my sub into the audio outs and connected the remote turn on lead to the "wire remote" cable, and my sub would not come on. I'm guessing I'm going to have to bridge it with the acc or with the rem/amp cable and see what happens. The only curious thing about it is my amp auto senses signal from the audio connectors and turns on without the need of a remote wire also, I wonder if their really is any signal over the lines? I'm guess the NC wires have something to do with power button for the computer. I haven't dropped my carputer in yet (I'll do that in a couple days), but the extra cable bundle that attaches to the back of the unit also has a NC1 and NC2, and that bundle is mostly for the car-pc.
Hey,
Some units have a remote wire that needs to be activated in the units settings. I'm not sure about the mdt-x7000. I just know this from other units I've owned. x7000 is one I'm really thinking of buying. If anyone can give me a list of pros & cons it would be great.

fyi - a quick search for the model number on these forums will yield an extensive list of threads that discuss the pros and cons of this unit.

The wire remote does work with the remote switch for a subwoofer/etc...
The wires marked WIRE REMOTE, NC1 & NC2 do not have any function. Leave these wires disconnected.
The wire marked ANT & AMP REMOCONTROL connects to a powered antenna or external amplifier. If you do not have either of these, leave the wire disconnected. As this wire outputs +12V, please cover any bare portion of the wire with electrical tape.
