automatically switch to reverse camera video

I have an ex-audio 7" TFT touchscreen which has 1 VGA and 2 video inputs. its here

    http://www.ex-audio.net/shop/product...roducts_id=151

i will connect reverse camera to one of its video in line (say line 1) and I want the screen to automatically switch to video line 1 when I move shifter to R. I know there is products that has this feature, maybe a wire from the screen which tells screen to switch automatically. My screen seems not have this feature

please advise if there is a way to mod the screen? thanks for any input

'My screen seems not have this feature'

What does it mean? Usually, the monitor switches to the video source with signal.
Connect to the VGA, display an image. Connect to video1, but do not give power to your camera yet. The monitor have to show VGA, NOW switch your camera on (give power) what happens? Try it also on video2 source.

Have you got any feature in the settings menu, concerning the signal order or so?

I asked, because all the monitors I know are working on the reverse wire, that gives power not only to the lamp, but to the reverse camera also.

i see, so the other screens will activate video line when they sense an input signal, what i thought was that there would be a separate control wire to tell the screen...

I will check my screen with my home DVD player and see if it will autoswitch

    thanks a lot bbalazs

Recently servicing a 'Santek' lcd monitor, I was unable to force the monitor to detect and switch to the Video1 source. The owner said it needs a +12V on a wire from the reverse light. Perhaps your monitor also needs this...

Some monitors don't have this function.

Depends on the manufacturer and model.
