also, the PCB all seems fine, nothing looks black, nothing looks cracked. ??
Hi all,
My lilliput screen keeps turning off after a few seconds of being on.
I've searched for similar issues , the main ones being the resolution/Hz fix or an on board fuse replacement, but my issue seems a little different
For about a month my screen would work alright most of the drive (maybe 20mins) then just go black all of a sudden. I thought it might have been a heat issue as being in Australia we are in out summer.. i put a fan on the back which didn't really help
It slowly goes worse and worse until no I will turn on for about 10 secs then go black, the only way to get it back on is to turn the car off so the pc shuts down then restart, and then i get another 10secs. but unlike the resolution/Hz issue mine sometimes does make it into windows for a few secs..
I have hooked up a CRT to the carpc and changed the resolution but this didn't do anything.
Anybody have a similar issue?
the next thing i am going to try is to wire the screen to the 12v on the pc as its now getting its power from the car.

First you may want to try connecting the screen to a wall outlet. That will let you know if it really is a power issue.
Thats what i want to do, but i cant find my lilliput transformerI know its around somewhere, I've seen it recently
Ok I found the AC adapter.
Its been running for about 10 (without the VGA in) just power so the screen is just white.. it hasn't gone black yet.. I'll leave it for a few more minutes
Ive solved this problem.
it was the fuse on the PCB but it wasnt the same one that everyone was talking about (Nanafuse?) mine was a PTC Fuse, I replaced it today and it works like a charm now.
I'm having a similar problem but mine only flashes the video signal for a split second, then goes black, the LED stays green (showing it's getting the signal) but the screen shows nothing. If I turn if off with the power button the LED goes red (like it should) but then if I try to turn it back on with the power button the LED just stays red. The only way to get it to come back on is to turn the pc off and on or to unplug the power from the monitor.
You think it's the same issue as yours?
Also, what model is yours? Mine is the 889GL 8" widescreen.

Ive taken off my button panel so i have no idea what the LED's are doing, did yours get progressively worse over time? I also had to cut the power to the screen before it would turn back on.
Mines the 629 7"
have you opened your screen yet?
No, I havn't opened the case. I had a similar problem with one before and they replaced it but it was out of stock and took about two months to get this one. And they are out of stock now.
I'm going to call one of the guys with mp3car and see what they think. But I don't want to wait two more months so if they want me to return it I'm going to get something else. But I would rather this one worked.
It was working really well but I didn't use it for about two weeks while I was assembling my carpc's case. As soon as I turned it back on it had the problem. Other than the two week break nothing has changed. I've only ran it off the 12v ac adapter or the 12v rail on my m2-atx.
Ok, mp3car was closed today and is tomorrow and I'm not sure about the rest of the year. So, can I open my monitor case just to check that fuse without voiding my chances at return?
