I'll start by saying that I've heard a lot of people complain about the durability of the Lilliput and that fact they don't work properly in very cold weather. And I can personally say that the Xenarc is bulletproof and will work in -40 celsius.
Hello,
Mp3Car 2008 7'' Transflective LED Backlit Sunlight Readable Monitor $750USD
LinITX 7" Widescreen High Brightness TMR VGA Touchscreen $455USD
Xenarc 700TSV - VGA Monitor with touchscreen and video inputs 2008 model! $365USD
New 2008 Lilliput 7" VGA Touchscreen 629GL-70NP LED Backlight $250USD
I'm trying to decide on which LCD screen to purchase like everyone else I suppose on this forum and was almost settled on the LinITX 7" TMR VGA Touchscreen from a features and price point of view. Then came along some further recent additions that also look very interesting and only help to make the purchase decision even harder!
Within this shortlist which I believe is probably the cream of the crop from my research with respect to 7” LCD screens, unless someone has another that is relevant. Does anyone have any comments or personal experience with any of these particular new LCD screens?
I suspect the Mp3Car 2008 7'' Transflective is probably “the best” currently available but what order should these be ranked in respect to functionality such as sunlight readability, brightness, auto switching and other important features.

Thinking of Upgrading my old Lilli, after the Touchscreen starting failing this winter. I'd Like to know the same things as the original poster. Any Experience with these newer models??
Thanks,
Nathaniel
Trying to upgrade from an old lilliput with a failed TS, I had (and still have) the same questions as the original poster and did much research but could not find much help.
I finally decided to go with Xenarc 700TSV for the following reasons:
1- Many happy camper owners in here
2- 2008 model LCD backlight is brighter
3- Has 5 wire TS
4- Has (I hope) auto switch to Video2 (backup camera)
5- Has a website and a phone number for tech support (in the US) that I can actually call and get help if I needed to!
6- Thought a more expensive unit will probably be better (LOL)
It will arrive next week and soon after I will know if I made a mistake or not...
Compaq Evo D510 e-PC - P4 2.0 - 512M RAM - 120G 3.5 HD - 7" Xenarc 700TSV - DSATX fitted nicely inside the PC case
It's hard to believe that nobody has chimed in on this thread with any helpful information.
I'm really tempted to just get the new LED lilliput instead of transflective because of the cost differance. But now there is a 549.00 version of the transflective on Ebay that is tempting me.

Hello,
Thanks for some of the responses, I was also surprised and disappointed this post didn't generate a little more interest!
Anyway, lor109 where did you see the cheaper version on ebay (item number). I assume you are referring to the motocitytech version http://motorcitytech.netfirms.com/mct/transflect.html? There is some suggestion that this one is not the same as the mp3car version?
Zebelkhan, any feedback on the Xenarc 2008 model would be much appreciated, particularly in sunlight?
Thanks,
DEM_968
It is the Motor City Version on Ebay. There is no real evidence if there is a quality differance between his and MP3cars version. I would think they would want to let us know if there was, but not having heard anything from them makes me think it's the same. Hopefully someone will provide some insight. I am going to Email Motorcity and ask him.
