i got my LCD... help! i think freq. is not right...

    Hi guys

I just got my 5" PS1 LCD.... and i hooked it up to the built in S-Video OUT on my mobo which has a ATI 3d Rage II. So, i wired the 12V-dc adapter into my computer so i can work on it from inside the house... and i hooked it up and now when i'm running the computer with the LCD on, the LCD is like.... shows hecka wavy flashing screens. It looks like the frequency is not right or something. I tried lookin through windows but couldnt find a way through Display panel to change frequency, if that is even the problem. What is the prob guys?? please help me!

the ATI software that i have is in "television" mode... and it says

    Monitor mode
    resolution: 640X480
    color depth: 32bpp
    V-Frequency: 60 Hz
    H-Frequency: 36.29 KHz

    Television mode
    Standard: NTSC
    Format: comp+s-video

    hehe, that's one problem

plug it to your tv, change resolution and then plug it into the 5"

Not sure from your post if this is relevant, but the horizontal frequency is way too high. NTSC is 15.75kHz.

Thanks for all the replies guys

I fixed the problem... since i connected the car adapter for the LCD screen directly into my computer power supply... i accidentally wired it into the red wire (5V) so it was all screwy... then i tried the yellow wire instead and it worked! i guess i got my 12V and my 5V wire mixed up... 5V-red and 12V-yellow

DAMN that LCD was hella worth it! it's so nice, too abd they ran outta it... best 50 bucks i spent!

so you mean you can use the little screens you can buy for the PSONE without a playstation? can you then take it apart and put it somewhere else?

of course u can. I dunno if 5" is considered little.. i think it's a good size for the price. They have an external AV/S-video input too! it's not only for the PS1 anymore.
