Unhappy True DDIN for the rest of us?!

Is there a true ISO DDIN bracket (like the one for Subaru) for the rest of that don't have a Subaru?...

I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and Subaru bracket will not fit. I have been reading the forums and measuring my Jeep for weeks trying to figure out how to build my JeePuter...I love the idea of the new Lilliput and the Xenarc for that matter...but I need a bracket that ust goes into a DDIN, and mounts the monitor after I take if out of the bezel.

Such an animal? Otherwise, I would just grab the MDT-X7000 or 700IDT...but they don't HAVE the latest panel in them to get the 500nits and 400 contrast...with LED backlit...so how can I get the best of both worlds without buying both and swapping parts ? (if even THAT is possible...)

With the debate over whether you can get good sound from the NanoITX or PicoITX vs. MiniITX+card, I was going for the headunit for radio/CD, and CarPC with 1DIN 700IDT both together in my DDIN size space...

    Help from the pros?!

Most people need to fabricate a dash surround piece. I'm using the Subaru kit and making a bezel for it to fit my Mitsubishi. BUT, you will want to see what others with your model car have done...

    JeePuter

That's the problem...people with Jeeps are more likely to put their money into a head unit and move on....so they can buy 40" tires...hkehkehke...I want the CarPC FIRST...Then the Winch, tires, lift, etc...

I have found a few, but not many...most are full blown mods, not just "Hey...I found that this dash kits work perfectly for slapping a 7" monitor into..."

I was thinking about the MDT-X7000 or 700IDT but both seem to have so many issues...

Your best bet is to buy a double din adapter kit that people would use to install an Alpine Nav unit or something. Then get your screen and see if it fits. If not, you will need to bust out some goop (bondo, epoxy, etc.), sandpaper, and paint and make it fit and look nice.

At the root of the problem is that 7" screens don't actually fit in a double din slot. They are too tall. 6.5" screens do fit, but they are expensive and rare.
