Opinions on different monitor makes/models.

I'm planning to set up a computer in my car sometime soon. I'd just like some opinions from anyone with any experience using any touch screen. Mostly, what brands/models would you recommend and for what reasons. I'm just hoping to use the experience of all the people here to avoid making a $200+ mistake. I'd like to keep the screen under $300, unless I can be fully convinced why I should spend more.
I'm not too worried about sunlight visibility due to the way I plan to mount the screen. But I would like to know what features are key to look for, other than the obvious(vga, designed for car power and being a touch screen.) Any help would be great. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat! I can't seem to make my mind up on which touchscreen to get!

You could read the everything you need to know about XXXX screen threads for some insight.

There's really two choices: Xenarc & Lilliput.

Both have their ups and downs and both have negative and positive reviews. Xenarc is more expensive than Lilliput.

Other than that, I'd recommend reading a bit in here to see what people have to say about them.

I have both 7" ts screen
xenarc (the old one, 2005) and lilliput (2008)

Overall, I like lilliput better since it's easier to make it into the custom dash
my xenarc has a lot of parts that make it more complicated (dunno about the newer xenarc though)

I've found it to be the opposite.

The Xenarc has the ability to mount the screen without the back cover in place. All boards screw into the front bezel, unlike the Lilliput.
