help installing my lcd
I bought a Datalux 10.4" lcd with the original plan of taking the screen out of the plastic case and mounting it in the dash some how. But after getting it and opening it up I think I have gotten my self into more work then anticipated. The only problem I have is what to do with all the parts in side, controller, inverter touch controller?. I?ve seen pictures of screens installed with no case, but never any of where the controllers are! Also the cables aren?t very long, would I have to get extensions for them?
if it comes down to it i'll just use the screen in the oem caseing
Any ideas people?

I did that. What I did was remove everything from the Datalux housing, including the touch screen. Removing the touch screen happens by pressing on it from the inside of the casing. Be VERY careful, very gentle, and very patient when doing this because I cracked my screen the first time I tried it. Then what I did was took a piece of plexiglass and on onside of it I mounted the LCd and touchscreen, on the other side I mounted the controller, inverter, and touch controller. I also bolted an L shaped bracket to the plexiglass which I attached via a second L shaped bracket into my dash on some metal supports. It worked out for me, but yes it was a lot of work.

Wow! thats a quick reply, something else i thought of was, i think its the lcd controller, it has the brightness and contrast buttons and its offset from the screen did you just move it over?

Hmmm...are they right on the controller? If so, you must have revision F. I had a revision G, which meant the controls were right on the casing of the Datalux screen. I just did without them...I configured the jumper on the controllerl so the contrast was 'optimum' and the brightness was full and I'm fine with that.
