Xenarc MDT-X7000 BackOrder RANT

Took the unit to the installer today, and power feeds are fine. He confirmed the fault is inside the unit. Managed to get the screen open if you push the power button about 30 times. Spoke to the supplier, and he thought it was a firmware issue, and was waiting for Xenarc to send patches. I must say I am not over impressed with Xenarc's performance so far, which is a shame because they looked so promising. I really hope these are simply teething problems, but if they do not wish to lose market momentum, they need to urgently adddress these matters and not wait until the market swallows them up as another also ran.

Not sure if anyone already took a look, but I was hunting around for some 700TSVs and saw the MDTs up on EBay of all places.

I really want to buy one of these for the radio and dvd player in front functions. I've got one of the chinese crapjobs and the motor has packed in.

If these haven't been fixed yet how can I get FM radio in the car using the car's own aerial?

I am on a replacement screen now. It appears to be better than the original, as it has the updated firmware.
I would advise only getting a screen with the updated firmware. Only problem is how to detect the version.

I had to get a replacement for mine aswell..

My older had these issues:

1) Freezups when having a CD in and turning it on to DVD mode
2) Color hue issues(possibly bad cable)
3) USB interface had alot of register probs in linux
4) Slowly forgot settings
5) Screen finally wouldnt come out

However the newer firmware seems to work flawlessly. I recommend anyone who got the X7000 to return it if you have the slightest problem because its only gonna get worse.

In short.. UPDATE!!!
