Thread: EBY701 questions and opinions!!!!!!!!!

OK I downloaded everything and it looks like this requires AutoDesk DWG to open and read. Be ready this download is 193 MB, but from what I can read its free.

What is the EPC file Robby, what does it do, how do you open it?

OK, I started looking and reading and trying to understand it better. It looks like its a circuit for controling 2 relays, its basically a complicated version of what you have proposed Katit.

It works like that. When voltage supplied - capacitor will charge and second relay will be activated. As soon as capacitor charged - relay will deactivate. When voltage removed - capacitor will discharge and activate second relay.

Is this something you have tried? What capacitors do you have to use?

Where is the capacitor on the drawing? I can only make out the 2 relays........ Tommorrow Im going to hop over to radioshack and get the capacitor, I already have the relays.....

The EPC file is a diagram of the PCB board. The usually green composite board that has the circuit imprinted on it. If you go to PCB123's web site, you can download their circuit design software, and open this file if you want to look at it. But it is mostly for submitting to PCB123, so their computer can make the circuit board for you. Than all you do is buy the componants and solder them to the premade board.

P.S. the capacitor in the drawing is ( +---||--- ) between the two relays at the top.

From your opinion... which set up is best? The PIC process seems to take time and cost more, and doesnt insure that the screen will flip correctly. The relay way has the same issue, but much easier to buy and cheaper.

I bought the 2 relays..... they both have a coil resistence of 56 ohms +- 10 %, what capacitor do I need? I found a 220 UF one.
