Just today, I looked at the page again to see that the next batch of screens will be in on 12/12/2002 which is excellent news. However, I've also noticed that the price has been changed to $245. Are you still going to honor the $10 price difference and give the screens to us for $235? Just curious.

Monitors should be here before or on 12/12/2002. For this order I ended up paying $15 more then usualy so that is why the price increse Web site price will be $245; for Mp3car.com members it will be $240. All prices include free shipping in US (50 states). I am sorry I can't do any better for now but I know that a lot of people waiting for these so this order will sell out fast. Next order will go back to $230.

How much are we looking at shipped to the UK for one please? Also do you have an ETA for when you will have them as I don't want to forget to check back and miss out

Oh one other question, to fit the touch screen kit do you have to dissasemble the TFT unit to get it on or what? This is my first TFT and I've no experience playing with the insides of one so if you do will it come with good instructions?

I have already sent a sample monitor to the manufacturer, once they get the monitor it shouldn't be more then 2 weeks. Shipping to UK via US Post Office (EMS) is about $30. If shipped with a monitor it will be about $40. It is expensive but it is also fast and Reliable.

Installation - Monitor will have to come apart and the panel should fit and look perfectly. I will try to make a step by step guide with pictures on how to do this. This should make your job easier.

Hello Armen, just come across this forum, very interesting! and very interested in this LCD & touch-screen kit. Three queries:

    1. any specs on the contrast, nits and response rates on the LCD? (tried the Aurora and Digitalwww sites and only got the res)

    2. is it possible to use this LCD & touch-screen with Windows?

    3. could I strip down a 7" Zenarc and use the touch-screen with that?

    Many thanks for your help!

You will have to dis-assemble the screen housing, fit the touch plate to teh screen, then re-assemble. It will also require some cables routing with the eixisiting video / power cable through to the back of the dash housing.

Welcome and I hope I can help you

    1. It is a Panasonic Panel about 200 nits (I will double check this)
    2. The touch screen software will work with all Windows versions.
    3. I am not sure what you're asking here. 7" Xenarc already comes with a touch screen panel. Using Xenarcs touch panel on this (TM-701L) Monitor? Doesn't sound like a cost effective idea... Let me know.

    Hello Armen,

Sorry, should have explained better. The Xenarc touchscreens and VGAs are much more expensive, so an option is to get a non-VGA Xenarc and put your touch-screen on that.

It partly depends on how clear the definition is using the screen for standard PC functions (Windows, occasional word processing etc.) rather than just playing movies. If the definition is poor in Windows then I'll have to go for a higher definition screen and/or VGA.

The ideal for me is that the Panasonic panel could connect directly to the LVDS output on the Via EpiaM board I'm using, keeping the signal digital and getting round the lack of VGA. If you're able to find the pin-outs on the screen controller that would help with this, and there may be others wanting to explore this potential with the EpiaM.

Thenominous, thanks for that, it's what I was expecting to have to do, and I'll be building a screen casing myself. More anon... if it works!!!

    GPS

    Hi digitalWW,
I was wondering if you or anybody have experience with GPS with this screen. I know that is not VGA but does it look OK? or is not really worth it for GPS.
