Sorry, should have explained better. The Xenarc touchscreens and VGAs are much more expensive, so an option is to get a non-VGA Xenarc and put your touch-screen on that.

The touch screen pin should be able to fit most 7" LCD Perfectly so hopefuly the answer is yes. Isn't non-VGA Xenarc also expensive?

It partly depends on how clear the definition is using the screen for standard PC functions (Windows, occasional word processing etc.) rather than just playing movies. If the definition is poor in Windows then I'll have to go for a higher definition screen and/or VGA.

The ideal for me is that the Panasonic panel could connect directly to the LVDS output on the Via EpiaM board I'm using, keeping the signal digital and getting round the lack of VGA. If you're able to find the pin-outs on the screen controller that would help with this, and there may be others wanting to explore this potential with the EpiaM.

I will try to get some detailed spec on the LCD Panel (panasonic). Give me a couple of days.

I've never seen GPS on these screens so I don't know but I am sure somebody knows and will be able to answer this question.

I used GPS on a smaller screen.

It was difficult to read only because it was small. If you have a quality TFT and a quality signal going to it, it should be readable.
