Monitor Dilemma
Evening all.....Im kinda in need of some assistance here with a dilemma im having.
Ive been using a K301 monitor over the last 2 years (2 of them with the same not opening problem). The 2nd one has packed in today and there is no way that it can be swapped out under any kind of warranty.
The dilemma i m having is that the car that i have (Renaultsport Megane 2007) has a very short din slot which is 200mm deep. The k301 was about 150mm deep which was perfect. I have been looking at my options today and i have notced that ALOT of the newer screens are coming up at a depth of 190mm. This dosent help unfortunatly as when all the cables are plugged in it will be sticking out way more than it should. Unfortunatly hacking away at the back of the DIN slot isnt an option which brings me to my options.
I have looked at a couple of potential screens tonight but i need to either be sure that i can fit the unit in with attached cables or be sure that the cables are on a cable away from the unit to be attached.
I have seen for example the lilliput (GL701-70TV/C/T screen as shown on the image below.

Something like this on a screen would be perfect but how many screens have this kind of cable extension.
The items ive seen are the
K500 and the GL701 which either have this cable option or are short enough.
Any assistance would really help me out here as im running out of patience here. I am based in teh UK if that is of any benefit.

have just found this screen aswell which looks like the original thermaltake screen
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/T0701A-7-In-Da...742.m153.l1262
However this screen where the 2nd gen thermaltake screen has the vga plug in has 2 cables coming out allowing you to reposition where the screen plugs in.
Still lookingfor more advise as to if any other screens have their connects on wires.

Just curious, did your k301 just suddenly break down for no reason? Any idea what may have caused it? eg. broke gears, motor, electronics...
From what I have read, the Lilliput motorized monitors use plastic gears vs the metal ones on the k301. So reliability wise, you may be downgrading.

From my understanding there is a problem o one of the control boards that means that even though you press the eject button it wont open. This has happened to me on 2 seperate screens. Annoyingly it was to do with teh 1st generation of the screen and there has been another release of it since which i cannot find for love nor money to see how much it is.
