Well my 8" transflective Lilliput that I got from him several months ago never worked right, I sent it back to get fixed (after waiting too long for any reasonable expectation of having him foot the bill for it, though it only sat in a box the entire time), he put on another touchscreen, appearantly tested it, and... Well I still couldn't get it to work, and I worked pretty hard at it.
I liked dealing with him, he's a nice guy, and his treatment of the situation when I contacted him again was very fair. But when I contacted him asking for some advice, or something ,because yet again my touchscreen doesn't work, I got no reply. Now it's been a while since my initial purchase, several months, but this monitor's touchscreen has never worked. I'm pretty sure it's the controller board now. Granted, I have not hounded him, called the BBB, or anything. I'm even trying to write this without coming across as bashing him. But I want others to have an idea of what their experience could be like if they purchase a 8" trasflective upgraded lilli from him. As for now, I have to find out if and how much someone will pay for an 8" MCT transflective modified lilliput that is in need of a touchscreen controller and/or touchscreen, but I suppose I'll do that in the classified section.
After another reminder via ebay's mail system, I've received my refund 2 weeks later than last promised. Duayn / MCT didn't list the agreed upon deductions and fees in any detail but the total amount seemed just about right. I assume that there is no way for the refund be undone by paypal, right?
In the meantime, I learned that my bank would have accepted a credit charge complaint even if the transaction went through paypal. In fact somewhere in the paypal FAQs for sellers you can read about credit card charge-backs. The date when I sent the item back would have been relevant and the bank would just barely have accepted the complaint because it had been just aboout two months.
Should the BBB, where I issued a complaint, follow-up with me as well, I'll let them know the status too. I never received a case number from the BBB but Duayn had been made aware of my complaint.
So be wary with a seller who's friendly, but slow to refund or respond to a complaint. You may run out of time for some protection mechanisms available to work.
Well I guess his only issue is refunds and email responses concerning money. I know when I emailed him about a cable I needed fabricated for my 15" inch VGA flipdown (it was missing the VGA cable to the control board), he was very glad to help me and responded very quickly. i would have followed up, but after threatening the company I bought the screen from originally, they got me the cable.

Sometimes I think Duayn just doesn't respond if he has no more input, that's all. I called him and he told me he can't do anything more over email, so I should send it back to him (again) so he can test it. I just wish he had said that in email and I would have sent it instead of not responding and waiting over the weekend before I knew that. He would have had it by now and sent it back to me with the issue resolved by now.

Re-do fabrication of screen [DONE]
Add mini-USB and micro-USB power from M2-ATX [DONE]
Teardown PC [100%]
Add HDMI > VGA converter [0%]
I got my screen all fixed and installed - yay!!!
However, even though Duayn told me he tested everything and it worked great before sending it to me, the cable that houses power and the composite video sources had a disconnected wire that goes to the control board on the screen. I had to uncramp the wire, strip it and recramp it. Obviously I don't have the equipment some one like he would have so it's a bit of a hack, but it works, so I'm moderately happy.
Still not confident at all in that flim-flam he's got going on there.

I had a similar issue when buying from lilliput. I ordered 3 screens from them (yes my install uses them all) The first 2 I recieved looked OK, and even when i tested them by turning them on (which i think is what most companies do) they seemed fine. Then I started using it with the Car PC and there was a dead pixel. I contacted them and they said to send the unit back, which I did. I finally got the second screen and it had the same dead pixel issue, so I freaked out, exploded and threatened them. They this time paid for shipping to send it back to them and when i packaged it, I left instructions that they are to take the plastic off and connect it to a moving video source to test.... They did exactly that, I was finally happy and then bought a 3rd screen since i knew that when they saw my name they would open and test with a video source, which they did.
I guess sometimes it pays to be a nightmarish b!t*h sometimes.
