double din frame for the eby701

ok so i purchase the new plastic one for my eby701. well it does not fit. i currently have a 619, 629, and two eby701 and none of them fit. the width fit fine but the height does not fit. the screen seem bigger than the din kit. i have email juan at bybyte and now waiting for his response. also the kit cuts off amost an a quater inch of the screen on the left and a whopping half inch in the right.

i have taken pics but too lazy to post.

any one else have this problem?

i received a reply from juan from bybyte and he stated that this kit is only intended for the new 2008 led back lit 629 and eby701.

so the newer model lcd have a smaller ts? because with this kit, it cuts off about 3/4 inch off the side of the screen. so that mean the new screen are like 6.5 inches instead of 7 inches.

DONT BUY IT IF YOU GOT THE OLDER MOdEL LCD.

So after reading through all of this thread and comparing photos from here and the bybyte website, it seems pretty easy to determine which screen you have (pre 2008 or 2008). Can someone confirm that the screens fit in the respective frame (meaning does a new eby701 fit in the new plastic frame and does the old eby701 fit in the metal frame). Thanks.

i think there are 3 stages of the eby701.

the older one (older than mine) that fits the metal frame.

the middle one ( mine ), there is no frame for

the newest one ( bybyte ) says its led backlit

Bybyte's new Plastic LCD frame offers the possibility to remove the screen without compromising it's integrity. They have redisigned the frame and it is compatible with most Metra dash kits. Only works with the Lilliput 629GL & EBY701 model 2008 back led light. It looks very promising:

Can someone help me with the exact dimensions of LCD module of the 2008 Lilliput models EBY701 or 629GL.

I have read some where that the height is 106mm and at some places that it 104mm. Can someone help me with the correct height figure. I understand that the width is 165mm.

I got this information from Hitachi website. Non of the 7 inch are LED backlit and all are 106mm height.

My 2008 629GL is 165x104mm.

I also have the Bybyte frame, and everything fits together really well. It definitely seems like the frame is taller than the standard double din size, but in my case it is ok. The bottom part of the frame sits behind the plastic of my dashboard, but the entire screen is still visible.
