you remove then entire screen assy from its plastic casing. the button panel with the remote sensor built in is placed on the back power board. it is recommended that you cover all the back of the button board with some electrical tape. but i would choose a better screen with a respectable double din screen frame to use. its going to cost you.
thanks ...would you recommend the lili 629 and would it work with this din frame. it would make life a little easier for me if this frame would work.

i also saw on bybyte.com that they have the eby701 mounted and selling with the frame ...but you would recommend a better screen?

edit: never mind about the 629 i see that bybyte has one for the 629

i ordered a 629 mounted inside a Mazda3 dash kit from them. I haven't installed it into my car yet, but it looks great and works well on my testbench.

The frame feels solid and there isn't any "wiggle" on the monitor parts, despite being held in place mainly by double sided tape.

It's a Lilliput EBY-701. The button board and main circuit board aren't connected/shown in those pictures. That's why they're missing.

I don't mean to bring up an old thread but I just got mine the other day and everything bolts in perfectly. The only problem I see is getting the main cable to fit into the circuit board. The power cable has plenty of room but the big white connector doesn't seem to have enough room how did you guys solve that problem?

    Thanks

You need to cut off the strain relief. Carefully of course.

Take a look at this if you're not sure what I'm talking about or how to do it: http://www.mechatroniks.com/wrx/lili629-2008.html

This is what you want to do:

i still think this was a good idea and attempt, but bad detail in the design.

The cable doesn't fit even when you take the support off. I made it fit I just zip tied the circuit board to the mounting kit. I guess it will work like that but it would have been nice to secure the board down. All in all I guess the kit isn't too bad. I did try to remove the screen after it was taped down and it cracked like it said it would.

Does anyone have a picture of what this looks like once inserted into your car's double din slot? Do you still use something like a metra kit in front of this?

EDIT: Yes you need something like a metra kit in front of it.
