i think i will design my own. it is not right in so many ways.

    1. there is no way to fit the Ir Rx to the frame, the screen coveres the hole and the IR Rx/button board will not allow it to fit as designed
    2. it doesnt not fit like the frame is designed
    3. all those screw holes are too big
    4. there is no way to plug in the video cable to the eby701. at all.
    5. you only get once chance to place the screen on correctly? c'mon, think mcfly, think.

all in all, its a no go for the eby701. you have to either modify the screen to fit and its accessories and/or modify the frame itself.

took the chance, and only wasted 16 bux. ill just pretend that was a couple cases of beer in a bottle and i dropped it. just a party foul.

Has anyone tried the nano2din0308 I'm pretty sure I am going to buy one? It can hold the screen and a nanoitx board with space to spare for psu.
Figures I would find this right after I just finished attaching my LCD frame to my metra kit and finished the bondo err.

I disagree. This thing is excellent for the price. Much better than the mechatronics kit (sold here). And for half the price (I don't know exactly..both are cheaper than a new monitor)

If you are handy, this is the frame to get. If you don't want to drill/tap/cut/bend, this isn't for you. My 619 Lilli works fine. Who wants to buy my mechatronics WRX housing?

I have to disagree too. I think the frame worked perfectly and looks like it belongs in my car. The only downsides are lining the screen up perfectly the first time and the fact that the wiring harness wont fit in the kit. I had to angle my circuit board to give it clearance for the cable.

well i got mine in the other day and heres what happened to me.
i lined the screen up, taped it with scotch tape, marked around the edges with marker... then pulled it out to remove the double sided tape. i inched slowly with the screen and acidentally stuck the screen way off to the side and like many other people i tried VERY slowly to remove the tape and now i have a broken screen
i havent tried to turn the screen on to see if it works, i think maybe i only broke the touch screen portion hopefully

how much are you asking for??

and for the eby701 like the model listed is intended for, it can not work with ease. it doesnt allow for that very clean flush look i like. it is flush, but mostly NOT clean. guess im picky on the way i like things to look and work like claimed.

Well price also plays a factor. This thing isn't expensive. And you are right, I didn't use it with the intended exact LCD model.

PM me about the mechatronics kit.

In order to get the video cable to plug into the circuit board I just took a dremel and cut a slot out of the frame. This allowed me to slide the video plug in sideways then plug it into the connector on the circuit board.

At first I just removed the casing from the connector as well as removed the strain relief collar. I believe this worked, but found that cutting a slot into the frame was a better idea. I would post pictures but I no longer have a digital camera.

Are there replacement screens for the 701 incase something goes wrong? I seem to be able to find every other screen for the lilliput other than the 701 will the ones for the 619T and 629T work with the 701 hardware?

I used the replacement touschreen from the mp3car store. It works fine... but the dimensions are slightly off. The touchscreen panel from the store is just barely smaller than the original 701 touchscreen. It's not a big deal if you ask me. The only problem on mine is the top strip of the screen is non-responsive since it is a bit smaller. It may be different for you depending on how you align it. But I was quoted by another website something like 40 bucks to get the actual 701 touchscreen panel replacement. It's only an 11 dollar part, but because they have to purchase it direct from Lilliput in China the shipping costs make the cost go up. I may still have the e-mail from the guy but I'd have to dig for it. Let me know.
