I've been doing my searching and reading first (new to this forum, but I'm on several others) and I'm leaning towards using a kit to add touch to a regular screen for my first install.
Really I want to buy a monitor that I'll use for one of my headrests eventually since my rear windows are pretty dark I don't really need it to be a nice transflective screen and it doesn't really need to be a touchscreen. For now for my budget install that I want to do to just get my feet wet on my first build (I know after I do it once, I'll have a totally different set of goals for my system).
So to my actual questions. I've been searching through 7" headrest screens and I'm just having a tough time finding what all is out there. I would like to find one that has RCA and VGA inputs, but I don't know how realistic that is. The refresh rate difference makes me really want it to have VGA for when I use it as the main monitor, but I could settle for now having that if it's that difficult to find.
There are other features that I want, but those aren't that important. I just really don't know what the better options are for screens like this.
No computer in the car yet, just starting to do the homework to get ready to build my first setup.
Worklog here: Will be updating frequently as I collect components, software, and get into actually building the system into the car.
