So, how does this new xenarcs screen quality look in the dark with this brighter backlight? Is the contrast ratio decent in your opinion? Again, the original Xenarc at 180 nits - the blacks were bright greys. Nasty...
I looked at the pictures, and it's lookin' good.. Though you never can be too sure with the wacky exposures on most digital cameras.

eg. widescreen res of 800x480 on this new one would look like that but actually be 800x600 (that make sense?)
I dont think I like the idea of having the monitor streching an image out to fill up the screen, making everything shorter and fatter. Also, does it have refresh rates otehr than 60Hz?

Kind of an irrelevent post, but when you posted your install pics, i noticed that both screens had a horizontal line of distortion at the top edge of the screen. My screen, too, does this. Is this a factor of having it hooked up to a DVD player?
Also, I was wondering if the "ps2" type connectors for these screens was availabloe seperately. The piece that converts PS2 to power and video. Please let me know,

A refresh rate other than 60Hz is a waste of time and bandwidth for an LCD screen, as they do not rely on persistence of vision as do CRT screens. The pixels on an LCD stay in their last state until they are told to change, therefore flicker is not an issue.
I thought that there would be a good reason, just didnt know what it was :D Thanks for the clarity.

If you set a custom resolution then it won't have to stretch it.
Since Armen listed the res's that it can do, I am wondering if it will support custom resolutions.
Bearing in mind that the previous one (which seems almost like a model to test in the field now!) had issues with the resolution given to it.
Also that this model is clever enough to stretch the res, is it clever enough NOT to stretch it as well? :confused:
