Tiny XP won't display on 8 inch screen

Okay, I downloaded Tiny XP Rev08 last night and installed it this morning. Everything went fine, I was already hooked up to my 8 inch touch screen and everything was looking good. The installation finished and it rebooted. I saw the Windows splash screen to signal windows was loading, but then it went blank and the screen displayed something to the effect of:

    "Not Support 000 x 000 @20Hz"

What can i do? I hooked up an old CRD monitor and it worked just fine. I have Windows set to 800 x 600 but when I go back to the LCD same thing.

Is there a driver I should have? The monitor came with touch software which I installed while the CRD was on, but it didn't change the results.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks in advance,

You should check your video card drivers. I have a feeling you're using something incompatible. I believe Rev 08 comes with driver packs.

I decided to just scrap Tiny XP in favor of manually disabling services. I'm running a P4 so it's not like i'm really pressed for power. It just wasn't worth it to me to chase problems like that. I do think you're right though. My video card is on board and I always have to install proprietary drivers for the card, but i still had the same problem after installing the on board card drivers with the other monitor and switching back. It's just odd that it would do that to me. I did notice that if i set my resolution to a setting too high in normal XP i get the same error message. But any way, decided the pros of using my legit copy of XP outweighed the cons.

Well my trimming efforts in XP seem to have worked out. Idle I'm running 15 processes and have a little under 100 MB committed. Pretty happy about that. It also boots pretty quick too, haven't timed it but i'm pleased. I might make some more services manual so that they don't pull down the boot time but other than that everything is good.

only 15 processes? even with disabled services i'm still running around 30+ process and 150mb. not that it's bad or anything, but freeing up more would be great.

yeah, i'm thinking that's probably it too. It's just odd that it displayed correctly on the screen all through the install process and then when it was all over wouldn't work... And that it would still display correctly for the loading / splash screen portion of the boot Weird I don't know what was going on. Most likely has something to do with the proprietary video drivers on the computer. Oh well, I'm sure that I'm only a little slower than I would be with Tiny XP, maybe I'll get the urge to try it again someday with different results
