    problem after opening up 7" lilliput 619 (3m films)

    so i opened up my lilliput to try out some of the 3m vikuiti films. pretty much completely disassembled it, making sure i was particularly careful with the lcd screen.

    1. i had 4 films underneath my lcd. looked like 2 diffusers, and 2 bef-like films. not sure of the original orientation, didn't know what i was looking at in the beginning.

    2. there was also some sort of film on the back of the lcd, from the thread people are saying a polarizer...i really dont know. i was able to find out the orientation of it by putting a light source behind it. when it was 16x9, no light was able to shine through. as 9x16, light could shine through.

    so i had two prism films im guessing, they looked the exact same when perpendicular to one another. they allowed light to shine through in all orientations, but it's obvious the way that allows the most through.

    when i put everything back together it went like so...

    backlight --> prism sheet|| --> prism sheet== --> polarizer on lcd ||

    i left the diffusion films out, as they are supposed to be optional.

    after putting it back together it wont work though. backlight works fine, and im pretty sure light is getting through to the lcd properly, i just see no image. i am seeing faint rgb lines however.

    you are supposed to be able to see at the very least a trace of the image on the lcd itself right? because i am not getting that.

    did i break my lcd screen? are there any common things that would cause this(i've reseated the ribbon cables about 4 times now, no luck). I don't see any torn cables at all, although there looks to be a very small hairline crack maybe 2-3 millimeters long on the actual lcd panel. would it cause the entire thing to not work?

    thanks for any help guys.

    Yea sounds like you messed something up. I put in the films wrong the first time and I could still see the image, although it was very dim.

    t'was what i had thought. i guess i'll just chalk that one up to just how FRAGILE those things really are.

    are those the correct labels for those films though? im pretty sure stock it had the two prism films in between the two diffusers, but why would lilliput throw 2 diffusers in? dbef films don't look anything like diffuser films right?
