I planned to screw mine to the beam between the A pillars and maybe secure the back end with some adhesive.

I always read that they screw a board to the support beam.

Some people read and some people do. I guess anybody can be labeled a professional these days..... that's why I do things myself.

Hey if it works it works. I was just passing on what seems to me to be a better method.

Let me ask...... Why didnt you use the metal plate that came with it? Wouldnt the heat and or constant weather change eventually destroy the wood. You cant go wrong with metal. The headliner on mine was so hard to get off because i have a/c ducks running through mine. The gap between the monitor and the roof i used to store all the cabling.

OK, i see the pix now... you were actually able to keep yours on. I had no choice, I also had to run cabling for a other devices and i wanted to secure it to the cars wire harness and wrapped in heat protection tape.

The metal plate goes between the monitor and the headliner.

Heat and weather are not an issue.

One other thing, you may notice the smell of the Liquid Nails for a day or two but it won't bother you.

Yea thats true.... Aircraft epoxy is so strong smelling, but also very strong holding..... I guess the benefit it you dont have a gap between the screen..... But longer screws also fixed that issue..... i wish I would have taken pix when I did my install....

We do them in various ways, depending on the vehicle and location of factory bracing. If there is bracing already in there that we can attach to, we do, if we need to install between bracing locations, but they are not too far apart, we screw metal strap between the two braces (front to back), and then you can screw the monitor mount into that strap. In some we have to use adhesives and metal (or sometimes wood). While liquid nails is fine, and very strong, we use an actual adhesive meant for bonding to metal, which is used in the automotive industry.

The wood method with liquid nails should be fine. Liquid nails is very permanent once it's cured.

This was a concern of mine (metal bracing)..... if you look in my pic its nowhere near my metal bracket.... but its also why I decided to go with a 15", rather then a 21", i was worried the roof would flex when opening and closing.... thankfully Dodge built the car with a pretty solid roof so its fine...
