    Jacked Up My Dash Kit

I molded my plastic trim of my lcd to my dash kit upsidedown and i am now in a pinch. I was going to look for a new trim piece for my screen (eby701) but i found this site that has hte mounting and trin together. bybyte.com http://bybyte.com/frame_for_701.htm. If i got that would i have to mount that to my cars dash kit or does it elimnate it and the need for my plastic trim piece?

If you're video card supports it, you could be ghetto and just put it in upside down and use the software to flip the video.

I would rather not but if it comes to that. I also found on that site they do sell the shell for the eby701, so i might go that route. Im interested in the dask kit tho cuz it could save me the trouble of having to glue and mold the plastic to my dash kit. Might look a little bit cleaner.

I have the bybyte and it works amazingly. The screen is held in perfectly using the double sided tape. The circuit board doesn't fit in there with the cables but if you work with it a little bit then it will stay in place. I just used zip ties to keep it in place. You will need to buy a double din mounting kit for your car if they make one and the bybyte will screw right into t he mounting kit. I've owned 3 different car pc's and the bybyte is by far the most stock looking one.

If your EBY701 is anything like mine, you may be better off running it upside down if your vid software can support the 180-deg rotation. Test it out with the screen in your hand. The brightness/contrast is FAR better upside down. Makes for better daylight reading. Just an option...

CarPC v2.5 up and running - all hardware installed, skin configured, and iG tweaked like crazy. Now for OBD-II, and voice control, and camera plugin, and... :nutz: - it never ends!

You could always use a dremel and a cut-off wheel, and cut things apart, flip it, and redo the gluing and molding. It's a bit of work, but saves you some time and money..
