Thread: anybody buy this ? 7" lilliput on ebay

There are a number of members who use the EBY-701 screen.

Here's what you need to ask yourself, though:
Is this Ebay seller someone who will provide a warrantly is something goes wrong ith the unit?

Most Ebay sellers are "sell it and forget it" types. If it's a new unit and under warranty, you have to deal directly with Lilliput, which could be more of a hassle than it's worth.

from what i remember the unit is new in box so considering the price difference id take my chance dealing with lilliput...i was just looking to see how fellow mp3car members feel about this product things like reliability, brightness in the sun, picture quality, etc...

Bought my first 701 from him. Came as listed new and in box. Since it was my first auction purchase, I was VERY pleased. All said and done I would do it again.

I brought mine from this seller. The company name on the return address was from Lilliput. It may be possible that they are the US distributer. Plus they have 100% positive feedback, so they are a trusted seller. Use the live.com cash back program to save money.

did u actually install this in your car ? if so how did it perform in sunlight and display quality ?

Display is great. Sunlight readable NO, I tried one of those clear stickers that claim to reduce or eliminate glare - it was CRAP. I would consider this-
1. How long are you going to be using this monitor - Are you just starting?
If so go cheap so you can see if you like a carputer.
2. You don't look at your monitor alot - at least not while driving.
3. it is a common monitor and you'll find ALOT of pic in the fab area of ways to install this little beauty.

Over all I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I use one of these in my setup.

Can be programmed to auto-on on power - awesome
and as insaneramman said, not sunlight readable at all - but I don't mind. I'm not about to pay $600 for transreflective.

For a first monitor its perfect, and easy to fab in

Its a good screen at a good price. Don't expect to read it in the sun but that goes for most in car setups.

the EBY701 is a good monitor for the price.

*don't press the "auto-adjust" button while the monitor is in PC (VGA) mode. it doesn't happen to everybody, but many members (myself included) have screen resolutions/refresh-rates that are no longer usable as a result of simply pressing that button.
