    Need some help with lcd

    Anyone have any insight on how to power or control this type of lcd?

    Obviously its not as simple as connecting it to a pc.
    I'm not a electronic engineer so any help is appreciated.
    I would like to use two of these in my car, mounted in my gauge cluster area displaying things like time, and such.

    That's proper old skool - takes me back a few years.
    It'll do RS232 (5v level). Hook it up to your serial port, possibly with a level shifter.
    Old Systems retired due to new car
    New system at design/prototype stage on BeagleBoard.

    Ok found the cable now how do I get my text on the lcd?
    I assume I need some type of software to display and change different text
