Dashboard Devices, Double Din & Flip Out Screens. Any info?

    http://dashboarddevices.com/

I finally found the holy grail to match my dreams. Apparently this company is releasing a few devices which will compare to the g4! I noticed the link in a thread regarding a double din unit that a member was creating.

Has anyone heard of any information about the DD/SD units? The only thing I have noticed is a release date of 01/09. That's all I have seen about the product line(s).

This product suits my interest due to the color changing buttons(I plan on doing an LED swap to my interior), exterior volume knob, external dvd/cd drive. All in all, the system looks really clean and professional. Something I havent noticed with many other DD/SD units.

I just hope the price doesnt compare to the G4...if it's reasonable, I am SOLD!

I don't like it. The plethora or spelling mistakes on his site tells me he's not concerned with quality and turned me off right away. Plus it doesn't seem like a quality product.

You realize that none of those units actually exist.
Those pretty pictures are only concept drawings.

Until I see one of these units in operation, it is nothing but vaporware.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

I realize that they are not released yet. I received an email shortly after posting that says they will announce their first release @ the CES(sp?) trade show in January. It will be the DD unit w/ no facial buttons or controls. These will ship March of 09. From there, their SD units and DD Units with programmable buttons will be announced. The price "will not go over $2900"...so there goes my hopes and dreams

I still cant seem to find anything that will compare...so while I save money till the new year, I will keep an eye out.

    I do appreciate the replies!

Understand that this is not the first announcement of such a product. There have been several memorable attempts at bringing a quality product of this type to market.
All have resulted in nothing but disappointed hobbyists whose expectations were raised to a near fever pitch.

Honestly, I hope that I'm wrong. I'd love to see a double-DIN product such as this. It would advance this hobby leaps and bounds. If it were of better build quality than the other in-dash offerings (single or double-DIN), it will kill in this niche, without question.
However, until there is a physical unit that you, I, or anyone else can lay hands on, it simply does not exist.

Archy88; is correct, we will be showing at CES and leave for Las Vegas on the 5th to setup. DarquePervert; you are also correct and not all units on our website are photographs (no one make a Sunvisor VGA monitor, not counting the not so pretty one on our test bench). The products we do want you to see before the official product announcement are up in true color, those being the OBDII and ENV-XC (that’s the computer) notice the size of the ENV-XC too, it's a little larger then a 3.5" hard drive. With a new site design coming and when CES will be behind us you will see ALL new photos of everything… Archy88 also pointed out our first product release is a non-button unit (ENV-100), and that's not posted on the site at all, right... And, yes, we do have spelling errors on our website, who doesn’t, but when you want to point out our little mistakes, try and make sure you don't do the same thing in your post about it... (Maheriano; The plethora or spelling mistakes...)
