    "Ultrabright" opinions wanted...

I did a couple searches and didn't come up with much information on the "Ultrabright" option. I'm looking to buy the Xenarc 700TSV and 200-220 nits seems reasonable, but without the thing sitting in front of me it's just a number.

I have tinted windows which would help during the day. I also don't want the thing too bright at night (which I was thinking of correcting by using dark themes through the software at those times of the day).

Does anyone recommend or not recommend the Ultrabright? What is the typical brightness on Laptop LCDs (they seem to be ok)? Money is an object, but I want something I'm going to be happy with (hence the VGA TS LCD).

    Thanks for posting.

I would say that 600 nits would be overkill, especially if you have tints. Im guessing that you would have more trouble with the 600 nit version being too bright as apposed to the 220 being too dim. And think to yourself how much direct sunlight will the lcd get. The place I'm putting my lcd gets very little sunlight because it is fairly low in the console and I also have tints.

    Just my opinion.

i would say... use the monitor first. If it's bright enough, then keep it the way it is. If not, just send it in for the upgrade.
