Lilliput 619GL problem: No VGA signal and pressing any button turns it off

    Hi.

I've got a wierd problem with my Lilliput 619 7" touchscreen monitor. Hopefully someone with some good knowledge of this screen and the electronics inside can help.

Basically when I connect it to my PC and power it up I get a 'NO VGA SIGNAL' warning for about 5 seconds, then the screen goes black. The remote control doesn't work and pressing any of the buttons on the unit itself makes the whole thing turn off.

I've verified that the VGA signal from the PC is good with another monitor.

I've also tried ditching the 9-pin DIN connector (as I've heard this is the most common cause of problems) and carefully wiring a new VGA connector directly to the board; I verified the pins before hand using a multimeter and this site: http://www.mechatroniks.com/wrx/lili-diy.html

It still doesn't work so has anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks.

Ok, I figured out the problem and this infomation may help others:

The VGA connector that comes with the monitor is wired differently on the 15 pin D-Sub side than it is at the PCB.

For example the grey wire on the PCB side is for horizontal sync but if you cut the wire from the D-Sub side of the cable, before the 9-pin DIN connector (as I did) and check which pin grey is connected to with a multimeter, it's actually connected to pin 1 of the D-Sub which should be for Red in the RGB signal.

This is really confusing and it seems as though the wires must be swapped round in the 9-pin DIN connector or something?

    Anyway it's working now...
