    Question Compaq Armada M700 screen replacement?

    I'm about to get a
    Compaq Armada M700
    700mhz
    320 Ram
    12gb hd
    dvd
    10/100 nic

    With a broken screen, as shown:

    I wonder how much a replacement lcd would cost, and where to get one

    (it's a 700, but here's info on a 1ghz)

    After doing a little research, I found the following info:
    If you have the 14.1" screen, it looks like it uses a 14.1 Hitachi LCD TX36D81VC1CAB 135219-001 or TX36D85VC1CAA (essentially the same). I've seen them online for 395 USD.

    I did a search on eBay and found the following Hitachi 14.1 Displays. They are similar to yours and may work. For the potential cost, it may be worth a try...

    if it helps the Compaq spare part number for the replacement screen is

    135219-001 . . . . this is a display assembly.

    essentially the whole lid.. it has 3 connections to the system board......
    ( i work for Compaq .. now part of hp )

    Screen to sell/swap

    jol, i happen to have a working lcd-screen from the Compaq Armada M700. Just yesterday i disassembled it. It's a leftover from work of which the motherboard is broken. The screen should still work.

    I'm gathering parts for my carputer project and was able to get the 6Gb harddisk from the notebook's case and was thinking of using the screen with a touch-screen overlay in the car. Browsing on the Internet it seems difficult to use a laptop's lcd-screen... so i would be willing to sell/swap that.

    Arggg..I was willing to sell you a complete new M700 display assembly for just £75.

    Anyone selling the plastic base and the palm rest? so I can rebuilt my M700 bits
