Now that I see what needs to be changed, I understand that it's all a little more complex - thanks for the description.

Comparing the price of the xenarc controllers with others: they sure do seem to be pricey.

Is there a requirement to buy touch? Can we choose not to buy touch as well?

Armen, I didn't mean to start any trouble on the message board as I said I have nothing against you. I saw your previous posts that Gain is the manufacturer of those VGA monitors so I was hoping to get the monitors cheap from Gain directly. When I saw that Gain only has one sales office in the US, I assumed that the monitors that you carry must be through some other source besides Gain, which made me question the legitimacy of what you are doing.

I also just thought that your touchscreen kit is a bit on the expensive side comparing to what EELY sells. Anyways, if you didn't purchase from them then maybe your kit is superior in some way, thus justifying the price.

Anyways, I think you are doing great things for the people on the board, and I hope I can take advantage of some of the things you are putting together. I just hope you don't run into the same quality problems with the control boards that you had with the monitors that you acquired. I'm assuming that you are getting the boards through the same source as you did the monitors.

    Cool

    Armen.
The computer I am using in my car already has a LCD controller built into the VGA card. Does the TM701 without the controller come with an inverter ? Also which Panasonic panel does it use ?

    Thanks....Wayne

Yeah, I can see the quality of the NTSC controller being a price diferentiator but the panel res is independant of that?

Since the panel is the same as the Xenarc one then what ever NTSC controller is fitted it would be translating the composite signal into the panels native resolution. This would be 2400*480 not 1440*234 so why quote this figure as we all know that if a manufacturer can quote bigger numbers then they will Hence why these smaller screen resolutions are all quoted in sub-pixels as 1440 dots sounds much better to the unknowing public than the true resolution of 480pixels?

So, is anyone else confused by the 1440 vs 2400 on the same panel or can someone shed light on why this would be.

Of course, your other solution is to buy both a TM-701L AND a Xenarc, swap the bits, then auction the Xenarc on ebay. You might have to be a little bit careful what with the costs issues, but I cant believe no one has tried this one yet, after what Armen has said?

Did you happen to notice that:

    a) I already have one of these screens; and
    b) I live in Australia?

Sending equipment to and fro across the Pacific Ocean is a pretty significant expense, all of which is obvious, should you have bothered to think prior to being clever to up your post count.

    On to more sensible matters...

    Armen

I'm not really looking for touch screen at this stage. I like having the remote control, and I like not having to have the screen extended to control the puter, for example when I'm in traffic at night. Can we order without the touch kit?

Hmm... thats a little pricey for my small wallet. Does anyone think that the vga is worth the extra $240. I will be using it for winamp 90% of the time and other times just playing cartoons from the hard drive, maybe once in awhile some dvds. So is the vga upgrade going to make much of a difference. Because If not I can put more of my money in to other much needed upgrades for my car and computer. Armen could you post side by side pics of the lcd w/ and w/o the vga. It would be a big help.

    Thanks
