Comparing the price of the xenarc controllers with others: they sure do seem to be pricey.

Is there a requirement to buy touch? Can we choose not to buy touch as well?

    C!
You can purchase the kit separately, meaning that you don't have to get the touch kit.

While $600 is a lot of money it is only $100 more then the xenarcs 700TSV.

When I saw that Gain only has one sales office in the US, I assumed that the monitors that you carry must be through some other source besides Gain, which made me question the legitimacy of what you are doing.

I also just thought that your touchscreen kit is a bit on the expensive side comparing to what EELY sells. Anyways, if you didn't purchase from them then maybe your kit is superior in some way, thus justifying the price.

Anyways, I think you are doing great things for the people on the board, and I hope I can take advantage of some of the things you are putting together. I just hope you don't run into the same quality problems with the control boards that you had with the monitors that you acquired. I'm assuming that you are getting the boards through the same source as you did the monitors.
AHLU, you got confused because you saw Xenarcs link on Gains website. It clearly states that xenarc is just an agent for North and South America they have a different agent for UK. When you go to their Headquarters & Branch Offices page you will see that they have offices all over Asia. If xenarc was just another office it would have been on that page. If we could afford to buy their product by the container rest assured that our name would also be there.

As far as any problems or quality issues with controller board I will make sure that they are taken care of before I sell anything.

    Thanks....Wayne
    Hi Wayne

    The panel is Panasonic MEDTCB18QCF

Inverter was originally built into the controller board with these new VGA Controllers it comes separately. Most likely I will get a few extra inverters for a case just like this.

I will be using it for winamp 90% of the time and other times just playing cartoons from the hard drive, maybe once in awhile some dvds. So is the vga upgrade going to make much of a difference. Because If not I can put more of my money in to other much needed upgrades for my car and computer. Armen could you post side by side pics of the lcd w/ and w/o the vga. It would be a big help.

    Thanks
A lot of people have xenarc screens in their setups so based on that the answer would be Yes, it is worth the extra money. In addition you will have an in-dash case for your monitor to hide in at night

I don't have any side by side shots of the monitors because I fried my only VGA Controller for now but I did get to play with it. The picture is just like a xenarc VGA screen. Clear text at any resolution without having to increase the font size and you can browse the internet with out having to scroll the page left and right.

Yes I will definitely have the kit available unassembled but it will not be covered with a warranty for obvious reasons.

The only pictures I have are the ones in the beginning of the post. Here are the screen shoots of different resolutions I took of the xenarc monitor. The image quality will be the same after the upgrade. I will have more available as soon as I can.

So it $600 including shipping and installation? I think I have to save up some more money now so I can get this. When do you think you can get the models in that are all black? That would match my car better. Anyway I hope you still have these when I have the money.

    Thanks

Im itchin' for the 701L vga upgrade with thouch thingy... but... after you said something about indash, motorized and VGA from xenarc well, im not sure any more ... .. hmm.. Im thinking the new Xenarc will be fairly pricey.. but we'll have to wait and see...

I keep asking this, but no one ever gives the definetive answer so here it goes again:

Does the xenarc (the TM-701 now too) do widescreen resolutions in keeping with the original one that did 800x480, so we'd also see now 1024x600, 1280x768 etc?

Could someone please try this, and take some pics if it does work. To me it seems daft to have a windscreen monitor and srecth the picture!!! What's the point?
