Are you keeping that headunit?
Hiya all,
I made the pluynge
got myself a dual atom in an anodised case, cr-drom drive, 2 GB ram, 300GB 2.5 HDD.. sweet as you like.
now i have the 10.4 Shark tft touch screen with a vesa mount and im thinking about how to mount it on the dash ( not in it )
I was originally thinkng the brodit clips, but i don't think they would take the weight, and shock vibration is i hit a pot hole might be too much.
does anyone have any links or ideas on brackets i can use to mount with over or above the centre console? ideally i'd like not to drill anything :P but can if needed. I'd like the mounts to be on or around the console without a pod leg extending down, although it's an option too.
cheers for your suggestions
P.S
this is the back of the monitor with mount

I am thinking about doing something similar and would like to know what the options are for mounting in front of the center console where my current Double Din HU is now that it will be replacing. I would like to get a 10" in there if possible without fabrication.
so you want to mount 2 10" monitors over your dash??
there really isn't any way to do this without completly refabricating the dash...
Yes i'll be keeping the head unit as the unit in there right now gives me 55w x 4 power output, which is more than fine for what i need right now.
My PC will use the AUX port on the unit to push sound out into the Car speakers via the cd/mp3 player i have in there currently.
I had though about removing the double din cage and fabbing a new one to house the monitor ( i might still try this later ) but for now, i'm just looking to mount either on the dash above the head unit cage or in front of the head unit cage, the latter seems more practical as i could just fab some ali brackets and slide them in to hold the monitor in place....
cable running there's not a problem, just a bit fiddly.
I've looked about the net and there's not many people who's done something like this..
