New guy here, after some searching I can not find an answer. So could I just use a vga to rca adapter and use my Clarions touchscreen for a display? Not wanting to lose the stereo, or gain a second screen in the dash. Thanks in advance.
Thank you very much. It looks like I would be able to use my screen, and I'm geussing I would be able to use the touchscreen function for the computer icons (like a mouse would).
You would be able to use the touchscreen function if you could somehow figure out how to interface it with the PC. The commonly used touchscreens interfaces via USB. I have no idea how your headunit touchscreen is setup. If it's USB and there's a driver for it, then you're in luck. Otherwise you may have to build something custom.
I found a vga to rca adapter that should do it?
Chances are, that adapter is only for certain makes/models of video card.
IF it works with your hardware, then that would get video to the headunit, yes.
The image will be low-rez, blurry and possibly craptastic.
You will not get touchscreen capaiblity out of the headunit.
