he has emailed me some prices, and a card Auth form/order form.

Biggest bugger is that you need to sign and fax the form.

How many people are interested, note that there is a bigger discount for 25 units (and serious discount for 100, but...)
Also, they do a remote control for them too

I'm planning on meeting with Ennovations next week during CTS at the NEC. I'll keep you posted on pricing. I've also had an email from Eely who make the touch screens. They are going to quote on the supply of monitors as well.

    Oh bugger.
Just bought a 7" STN PS2 screen from Comet.
Picture isn't bad for an STN once you get the angle right.

It was only £99.95, as the spiralling cost of Gain/Xenarc screens was starting to get a big heavy.

Guess I will have to wait about a year and build the MK2 version then.

    Falken,
so what is the price now for the Touchscreen version from Eely and excuse my ignorance but where are they located.

Skraggy_UK, I don't suppose your 7.2inch STN screen can have the same VGA cable mod done to it, that the 5.6inch screen on the link below has had done?

I've been reading that thread, and thinking the same.

The boards on the back are different shape, but I wonder, because there doesn't appear to be much in the way of ribbon cable, mainly seperate wires.

When I bought it, I opened it up (told the shop don't bother trying to sell me extended warrenty on it, I'll be taking a dremel to it in about 10 minutes from getting home. I love doing that to see the reaction on their faces).

The box mentions RGB input for the PS2 connector.

When I opened it, I noticed an input board that takes both the PS2 video connector and the Composite Aidio and video, and power on the lower mounting section below the hinge.

This passes though the hinge like a laptop, but instead of being copper/plastic ribbon like a laptop it is seperate cables.

This goes to a long (about 8") board below the panel in the main casing, which connects to two smaller panels via ribbon cables (soldered not plugged unfortunatley) that mount the headphone sockets, and speaker connections to the speakers, and to the screen, with the wires run under the metal backing shroud of the screen. Again, it looked like individual wires, not a ribbon cable to the screen.

I put it back together to make sure it still worked, but couldn't completley dismantle it as it looked like some of the hinge screws had been put in by blind chimps, with the cross headed screws already rounded, so the only way to chop up the hinge would be to cut the casing away from it.

Still trying to make sense of the numbers but it looks like the end price will be less than £350 for the equivilant of the Xenarc 700TSV. It is using the same Gain monitor but with the Eely touchscreen. Eely are a Taiwanese company but do seem to be well-regarded in the industry.
The only fly in the ointment is that I will need to place an order for 25. I'm trying to negotiate the initial order quantity down but we only seem to exchange one email per day!

Just been thinking, as it is only an STN LCD, rather than a TFT LCD, is going VGA going to make much difference at all anyway?

Haven't ried it with a PC yet anyway, only with DVD player. The DVD's menu screen was readable, and the text wasn't too jaggy.
