Nice to see another Mazdaspeed owner hacking that motorized housing from china. I own the same thing and modified it with a transflective lilliput from the mp3car store. Are you running the stock monitor and controller? or is that a lilliput?

Has anyone found an 8" widescreen version?
Don't know of one for sure but you can go here and input your screen's dimensions to find out.

@thanh510:
THANK YOU for the awesome pictures!!!!!!
This was all i needed to convince me to do this mod.
@antimatter
I am glad to see someone else has the 7" transflective lilliput from the mp3car store. You substituted the original resistive touchscreen for the capacitive? I have had this monitor in my car for about 4 months and I am not convinced it was the best solution as far as the clarity and resistive squishyness. The pictures are like night and day, plus i am so sick of the amount of force that is needed to make the resistive touchscreen react.
I already ordered the parts and they should be here in three days. I cant wait to do this modification.
I got mine from online components last week, it fit perfectly between the stock LCD mount screw holes in my 2006-ish EBY-701 bezel.
i will need to get longer screws, as the capacitive touchscreen is a little thicker, but the thing looks goregeous! VERY MUCH worth the $68 i spent.
