Now wait a minute, liquid rubber? You cover the whole lcd panel with it and then lay the capacitive panel on top of it and it is transparent? wow. Very cool. Where do I get a gallon of this?
Covering LCD w/ anything event transperan material is not good idea it will not be perfect. I used liquid rubber to as a gllue, i pured it on the metal part of LCD i let it dry for 8min to get hard-er then i placed touch pannel over it pressin and adjusting for proper angle but so rubber is not squzed oout. If you use soft rubber like 20-40 point then tiy can let it dry completly and put screen on top.. in that case when some one oresses in scree too hard it will go back a bit giving them the feal of toch so they wiil firgure out that they pushjed enough and can let screen go alredy. [I use "smoothon" fom my rubber / plactic chemicals]

As to contract, the spacer film will not mae it better but only worthers, you need better screen then ot check your cables / resolution .

Wet rubber, let me look up where you can get it

Here thats 30mil tape (it like 2 credit card thick, well a bit less) if it it is less then 3 yesr old then it should be reasonably sticky

Ah, so you do not cover the visible portion of the LCD at all (like those optical bonds do).

Interesting points, but I think the 30mil tape is too thick for me, that's a lot of air between the panel and the glass (more reflection). I was thinking I was just lay one on top of the other and just screw something plastic over the sides, but I like the wet rubber idea better now.

    Thanks.

you need to put some sort of spacer in between so vibration does not scrtach both surfaces.

Covering whole glass w/ anything is not a good idea, tranperant silicone tapes are good if you have perfect surface (i doubte you do in the car as tiucg screen can get pressed in and then "pull" out a bit so thape will show visible signs of air bubbles.

Similarly if you get liquid glass (forgor what plastic is used for that, i have 3 diferent cans in garge) so when it drys oput it may bubble, also its material dencity may dissirt image slightly but since it is monitor you probabl want crystal clear image, and finally plastic bonding to not glossy surface will create small cavitis which are not really visible but they will work and lesne sand disort image,,,,...... If you have spare monitor you can try to use clear silicon liquid, that might work ( but i never tried and i dont know) the reason why it may work is becauuse it is soft, I would personally never fill monitor surface w/ anything ...

Heh, thanks. I'll try some home made stuff here, something thinner than the one you linked...Got to do some research on my 12.1 capacitive panel now.
