It a capacitive screen like the link states. I think that picture of the screen in in direct sunlight, which is much better then a screen that is resistive touch. when using capacitive screen will have a better picture in the sunlight then the resistive and more accurate touch.

I bought mine from him so I can vouch that it is 3M capacitive, although mine was in a more generic double-din casing. It is WAAAY better than the Lili resistive one I had before. With this, I don't see a need to look for a bonded/transflective solution. This one works plenty good for me in nearly all situations. The old one was very disappointing in afternoon light. The only thing I would say negative about this seller is that the TS was not aligned perfectly straight on the screen and I could see the edges around the bezel. It really bugged me and I had to take it apart to realign. But the product is great.

Would you be kind as to post a few pictures of it's performance? Assuming it's just a standard Xenarc/Lilliput screen like most of us use only with a capacitive instead of resistive overlay, I'm very curious to see what kind of difference that makes.

It's the latest Lilliput 701. I honestly don't know if I can get any time to post pics, but I will if I can get to it. It's hard to get a good comparison. I like the earlier pic that compared the phone to the resistive screen. Maybe I can do something like that.

Doesn't have to be side by side, just a shot of the new one in use in the car. Hard to tell real performance from indoor low-res shots on Ebay.

That pic next to the phone was mine... makes me a little ill knowing what *could* be.

Seen that one before... appears that capacitive has an AG coating. I'd trade a little extra glare for more clarity any day.

Would be nice if the pictures showed the capacitive screen instead of the resistive one, only picture showing the capacitive screen seems to be the comparison.

I'm dreaming if I want to find a DVI or HDMI 7" screen aren't I? VGA looks terrible.

These are the real deal 3m 'Command' strips I used to bond mine (found an online vendor of gaming/kiosk maintenance parts located in Las Vegas, NV, where I ordered mine. They cost $12 per sheet, and a sheet has 16 strips in it which are about 7 inches long and they are approx 1/16" thick, and 1/4" wide. I bought 2 sheets, so I have gobs of leftover just in case I ever need more in the future):

It facilitates easy removal since you can just pull on the tabs and it stretches at gets thinner and then comes right out if you ever need to get it apart again.

BTW, it doesn't matter if there is a little gap between them. Every smartphone I ever took apart has a gap between the glass and the panel. Trick is, make SURE there is no lint, hair, dust or any foreign particle in between, and make sure the seal goes all the way around and is tight, so that no dust can breach the perimeter of the seal..
