Well, this was a messy project and I wouldn't advise everyone to attempt it, but yes it's brighter than a fully working CCFL. I don't see how this is right but the meter was showing 7.5 lux on the brighest spot of my screen and now shows 15 lux. It doesn't look like it doubled. I did use the whole strip though. It's a shoehorn fit though. I couldn't get the tabs back on. It's a really tight fit.

Hello, my browser screen / CarPC LTE072T-050 is CCFL and dying ... A few days ago I discovered this brico and I've started, but I can not find nowhere to LED strips that are narrow (6mm, 8mm, etc).
Do you know where I could buy in Spain?

    Thank you in advance.
Sorry for my English, I use translator. Sorry to resurrect a thread ...

Looks like someone besides me has canabalized the mazda "holy grail" motorized housing. Looks good. I have an old 619 that was modified my mp3car with transflective and antiglare treatments. Now the stupid touchpanel is going out and i dont want to spend another 700ish for a brand new screen. Did you have any luck sourcing an antiglare coating?
