LinuxICE is ubuntu based so the ubuntu drivers should work. What touchscreen controller does it use? lsusb may help you find out the touchscreen type.

I've built a mini-ITX PC for the purpose of using it as a CarPC eventually (i.e. once I get everything working on the bench at home). Currently it is set up dual boot with LinuxICE as the default and WinXP as optional. I've been trying to get my bearings with LinuxICE, but can't figure out how to install the touchscreen driver for my display - the VM70. Anybody have any knowledge of how to do this on LinuxICE?
Couple things to note: the VM70 didn't include drivers for LinuxICE, but does for Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Debian, and others. I was hoping either the Ubuntu or Debian drivers would work. If not, trying to take the source from those and compile it for LinuxICE.
I do have the VM70 functioning for WinXP and love it! I have Shotgun! running and it works ok, but I'd really like to abandon Windows and completely switch to LinuxICE as developments/progress is made. Thanks for the help!

Not sure of the touchscreen controller. I'll use your app to find out and post that info. Thanks for the tip!

Ok, sorry it took so long to get the info on here. I just got a chance to look into this today. I used "lsusb" and found that the VM70 (the one I have anyway) uses the "D-WAV Scientific Co., Ltd. eGalax TouchScreen" driver. Before I go through the compile and install process, anyone got any idea if this driver is supported in LinuxICE? Thanks.

yes, it is supported in linuxice via the ice-egalax package which is pre-installed.
to get it running open a terminal and type: cd /opt/eGalaxTouch && sudo sh setup.sh.
follow the directions on the screen, then reboot when you are done. When you come back, goto apps->setup->icetouch and calibarate your screen. it should work fine after that.
Cheers,
PS: alternatively, download the latest daily-live image of LinuxICE and just run icetouch, reboot, icetouch again to calibrate. It should work after that.
