hmm, does that seller sell alot of fake stuff? I just bought an 8 inch lilliput off him a couple days ago and am waiting for it to arrive, i really hope its real
Just a quick FYI for everyone. Lilliput doesn't have an HDMI version of the GL619/29-70NP/C/T on the market yet. There are fakes being sold on Ebay and several other sites right now. One of the fakes can be found here

Lilliput will be releasing an HDMI version of their 7" and 8" monitors, but not until Q1 2010. I was told that they will be changing the housing of HDMI version so they will not be confused with the counterfit models.
Lilliput will be releasing a 10.4" HDMI monitor next week.
Lilliput did recently release a DVI based version of the 629.

I cant comment to the reputation of that seller. I only know that Lilliput doesn't make an HDMI 7" or 8" monitor. I was talking to one of our Asain suppliers last night that got burnt by the same product. They told me the quality was no good and to stay away from them. I would be curious to know what yours ooks like when it arrives.
...sigh ok well ill post in this thread when its here. I dunno how to tell if its a fake though.
it is hard to see from the pics, but it almost looks as though they are making/including a custom hdmi-to-vga adapter...
Real or fake is not the question. It is a fake, no doubt about it. Lilliput doesnt make them yet. If you buy a knock off Rolex from Japan that looks like and ticks like a Rolex does that make it a Rolex? What is in question is the quality. The company making these could have put the hardware they are using in any old plastic housing that they designed and called it a Blah Blah 7" HDMI monitor. If you put out a quality product why wouldn't you put your name on it? Probably because its not a quality product and they want to piggy back off of another companies success.
ha, dude, that's nothing but an ordinary lilliput, he even says in the auction vga computer interface.. he's throwing aroud the term hdmi resolution, but even the pictures show no actual hdmi connector... think he's confused as to just what hdmi is really, but that's just a real legit normal lilliput, not a counterfit lililiput I think....

I definatly confirmed from multiple sources, including Lilliput and one of our Asain suppliers that there are knock off monitors that come with a HDMI cable. The new DVI based lilliputs have both the standard SKS cable (VGA and RCA inputs) and a DVI interface. I guess BCasey will have to tell us when the package arrives.
ugh thats not what i wanted to hear
well I guess that's not impossible, I noticed not all his auctions say hdmi too... hard to believe though, I'd think if someone was going to put that much time & effort into manufacturing a competitive monitor with a dvi interface that they'd do it under there own name & still make a killing, vs having all this money into a counterfit product that could become worthless if discovered, plus all the legal risks involved... if you think about the things that are counterfited there usually things that significantly increases the value of the product many times over what it would be worth as a unique item under there brand name.
for example a womans bag may be worth $50 give or take just being from a no name unknown manufacturer, but if it was a counterfit of say a gucci bag thats $1,000, then this otherwise $50 bag may now be worth a few hundred on the market, this 500% markup is what makes all the risks of counterfiting worthwhile I think. same thing with a rolex, as a no name watch what's it going to be worth? $20?, but again as a counterfit rolex it's worth many times that...
a no name tft touchscreen with a dvi interface would not be worth a whole lot less than a lilliut to begin with... maybe they'd see a 30% increase in market value as a counterfit lili over it's own no name?... seems like a lot of risks & trouble for what would be a very little markup over what it's worth as-is without having to resort to counterfiting. that's why I'd find it hard to believe but of course not impossible either I guess, curious to how it works out with BCasey's
