    LCD cable distance

    Hi. I'm considering buying a NEC panel with a PCI controller card, and am wondering how long the ribbon cable that connects the two can be, and if it is easily extendable. I want the computer to be located under the front seat, and the monitor to be in the dash of my car. Thanks.

    Unless it is using LVDS or DVI or analog vga, then I believe you can't go more than 18 inches.

    I did have a hirose cable longer than 18 inches, and got bad results.. shimmering, flickering, etc. Probably caused by propagation delay.
