This is just the settings that a lot of these screens seem to require.

K thanks, another q.. is it really meant to be 12v on the gamevue lcd? I mean it's supposed to be 7.5 input..

    and
number seven, it's sync ground, right?
    as this one.

Maybe 7 if you are getting brave and soldering direct to the boards as that describes.

I tried to make an adaptor cable to the Playstation RGB in AV multi connector which only has 12 pins, and is synched on pin 6.

But if you are soldering direct to the screen/board, then it may be 7.

now you lost me, does the ps have vga out(making it possible to do the mod w/o opening the gamevue screen at all...)? I so I'll wait and get a ps rgb cable too and solder on a male vga-connector

Nope, but the Video out on the back of a Playstation is RGB.

Cheaper quality screens just use just use composite input to the screen.

Decent screen use the proper RGB input from the Sony 12 pin connector on the outside.

I was actually making a cable/dongle that connected the VGA cable to the Screen RGB inout, but it seems I failed miserabley, and I am going to have to use composite for a while.

Skraggy is one step ahead of where I am at the moment.

The PS1/2 have the ability via the 12pin multi I/O port to output composite and RGB. What we are trying to do is to build a cable that has a VGA 15pin connector on one end and the same connector as found on the back of the PS1/2 at the other. This means you shouldn't need to open up the Screen casing at all as this would act as a gender changer.

However it seems as though Skraggy has hit a set back, which at present maybe the PC graphics card or it may be that in going through the regular cabling (i.e not directly soldering to the LCD controller itself like the GameVue mod does) is the cause.

As far GameCube etc, If their portable screens accept the RGB output then in theory this modding a cable route should be suitable for all.

I THINK I got the hang of this...
LCD panel input connector : HD-DB-15 Female
    3:1
    4:2
    5:3
    7:13

and the 12(7.5)V and ground on the "Pinout for the power connector" image

please stop me if Im wrong...I'll go down and solder the wires on the screen first, come back here and check, and then solder on the vga connector.

Don't forget a ground wire on the screen to the vga connector too.

And you may need a resistor between synch and green too 270ohm is what I used, as did M Pro.

And also join the H and Vsynch pins from your VGA connector I think too.
