    You could try without, but things might look a bit washed out.

    My gf2mx supports "arcade" but how do I select that very resolution? I wired the power part right atleast, the backlight works, but nothing on the screen...

    gamevue : vga
    3:1 R
    4:2 G ---->250(best I could find)ohm --->13 and 14
    5:3 B
    -:5 ground
    13: Sync ---->to 2
    14: Sync ------> to 2

    But I haven't replaced the ribbon cable... Guess it failed? I got a ati rage turbo in the pc too, using that one now and the gf2 for the gamevue, for the record.

    yeah and dont try to pull the plug on the inverter when it's on, i got a mark on my thumb that says not to.

    Did you make sure that Power and grnd where conected as in the other example here.

    And that the video grnd was conencted to

    one of the video grounds here?

    This mod is slightly more complex than that performed by M Pro in his thread, so i'm not sure exactley what you may have done wrong, if anything.

    The arcade setting in PowerStrip is for arcade monitors. Arcade Monitors run at 15KHz horizontal (PC monitors run at 31kHz horizontal) and 50-60Hz vertical. Pretty much like TV standards (PAL runs at 50Hz vert. 15KHz hor., NTSC runs at 60Hz vert. 15KHz hor.), which PSOne screens run at.

    I think it was the ribbon cable, I soldered the 12v and contrast onto the board as described and it worked, with alot of flickering and such... you could recognice the landscape in xp's standard desktop image tho...I'll try some software settings tomorrow
    thanks for your help(also in advance)

    I removed pin 14(Vsync) from 13 and put Gamevue 7 straight to 13(Csync) on the vga, that did the trick, but not quite.. the screen rolls, like a old tv or the credits at the end of a movie, pretty slow too.
    and the image is not as good as M Pro's, not even close. winamp time not readable

    glad you had more success than me with my Joytech screen.

    I guess, if I want to improve things, I will have to hack direct to the board.

    PSX LCD mod based on M Pro's schematics

    Skraggy, I am adding a LCD to my comp based on M Pro's design and I noticed that there is a slight problem. The H-Sync and V-Sync are shorted (connected). These signals are TTL logic and connecting the outputs of the video card this way can't be healthy to your vid card. I am working on a circuit that uses an AND gate to combine the two signals into one composite sync signal. I am using an original PSOne LCD screen and I plan on using a dedicated vid card to run it (I have an old PCI ATI lying around).

    Thanks.

    I was taking to someone else who has made several RGBTV/Projector screens type bits of kit for HTPC systems, he said that idealy you are correct, and a proper combiner type circuit be used, but in the relatively low tech graphics card/Console screen it should be OK.

    I look forward to seeing the circuit, but I guess I will be composite until I get a Xenarc/Gain screen, or find a reasonable TFT and controller/touchscreen deal.
