    What LCD Display to get?

Ok, ive been reading alot of posts, and been searching this site for the last 3 hours.

OK, well im creating a slackware linux box for my '03 Subaru WRX. Now im going to use a via m9000 mobo which im getting cheap $100 (local comp store hookup), anywho, looks like there has been alot of pros and cons about the Xenarc 700TSV

well im looking into this and will its looks like the best thing to get out of about 60 lcd screens I have looked thru.

my key factors are: VGA connector, Touch screen and support for linux.

now I want to know if this is a good choice to go with? and if there are linux drivers for this.

    thanx

heres the email I got back from Xenarc

    -------------------------------------------

    Hi Derrick:

The monitor comes with drivers for both Linux and Windows. The monitor
will support resolutions all the way up to 1024x768. The older models
only supported resolutions up to 800x480. I think the 700TS would work
    perfectly for your application.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to let me
    know.

    Thanks,
    xxxx

    Same car, similar plan.

As far as i can tell the DSCuston screen is exactly the same, and came be had for $400 with the mp3car discount.

I'm going for a windows laptop though.

The DSCustoms screen sure is nice, but it doesn't nicely fit the double-din slot in a WRX. I am working on a solution.

Sweet, so we got a few WRX's with the DSCustoms screen. We'll figure out a way to get that thing in the double din slot

I am also interested in hearing how you WRX guys mount your LCD's in the double din slot. I may not have a WRX, but I have the same size of radio opening

how do you get the mp3car.com discount? at what point in the checkout can you select it, and do you just provide your mp3car name?
