welll upon initial inspection the only thing that'd worry me is the lack of a brightness rating.
Has anyone here ever tried to add another backlight cathode to their setup. Or better yet, replaced it with a thomaselectronics backlight panel. I suppose you could turn the dimmest of lcds into a the most beautiful sunlight-readable panel.

Hmmm, good point. But what if you used the lcd panel from a desk projector (like the 3M kind at schools). Those panels were made for bright light to pass through and still maintain quality. Could you then use a backlight and a mirrored back cover? If that worked it would be cool because those panels have great color depth and resolution.
