I'm just trying to install my first carputer into my E36. All was going well until I hooked the screen up I'm getting terrible ghosting.
I was originally using a 5 meter VGA extension cable and thought that might be the issue so I tried a 3 meter one which produced the same issue. I then thought that maybe there was power earthing issues in the car so took the screen out of the car and hooked it up to my laptop indoors using the mains adapter supplied with the screen. used the 5 meter cable again and had ghosting, tried the 3 meter cable and had ghosting. Plugged the screen straight into the laptop using the lilliput connector no ghosting clear as whistle.
I read some posts on here that said the DIN connector is always pushed together properly which I checked and that seems fine....at leat I can't clear the ghosting by pushing the connector together tighter.
Everyone else here seems to just plug in a VGA extension and away they go...here's the cable I'm using, seems to be pretty decent qaulity. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97365
The cable is 28AWG so fairly thick.
I'm out of ideas as to what's causing this....I know some people have extended using the 9 pin mini din but I can't find anywhere to buy these, I'm in the UK.
Anyone have any suggestions?
