Thread: 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee - 1.5DIN LCD touch screen?

Hello All,

I have a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a dreaded 1.5 DIN opening. (pic attached) I am looking for a decent LCD touch screen to fill this space. I have seen another Jeep ZJ that put a 7" by loosing the vents. I don't want to do that. I use them for heat, its gets cold in New England!

While not the same, I have seen these units that are 1 DIN in size but the screen is 1.5 DIN:

They do everything I want, touch, ipod, GPS, AM/FM, bluetooth, don't care about DVD, but it has it.

While I did not want to spend $350 (I have tons of PC stuff, I fix them) I was looking for just the screen. However, to build, find a place to put the carputer, run wires, etc.. this just might fill the bill.

Thoughts on this unit? anyone ever try one in a 1.5 DIN? there are a few of these items on ebay all about $325-350

so buy this gizmo and be done? or a good 1.5 DIN touch screen? I want to avoid the pull out kind, plus, I think it would hit the dash overhang.
