The size requirements are the problem - I've been searching for hours. So hard to find the internal dimensions of LCDs to determine if it'll fit..
The active area must be >= 143x79mm, with the screen itself <= 155x95mm with a flat front, 800x480, and preferably bright with a good contrast ratio and a controller board that doesn't have any silly splash screens or colours on startup. That's a 6.5" screen - unless a 7" screen can be found with zero non-active area.
My whole project pretty much falls in a heap without a screen that fits there .
Is anyone able to give any pointers?
I found AUOs C065VL01_V0 which fits perfectly, is nice and bright etc - but I don't believe sourcing one is possible, and have no idea where I can get a controller board for one (or a decently reprogrammable universal one for that matter).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a chinese headunit designed for the car (ie looks OEM) that has a fascia for an LCD as above.
Close to the sides are backlit buttons and knobs that seem easy enough to get going with the computer (resistive networks), so my plan's been to get them working with the PC and a screen to suit. I just didn't realise that it was so tight around the screen in there... and the chinese screen, whilst it's perfect fit and great in car screen (800x480 too).. there's no identification on it - so I have no way of making or finding a controller board for it.
