Yes, it includes the controller!!! I'm talking about 3M 98-0003-3112-8 sold at onlinecomponents website.
But from the dimensions mentioned in the datasheet, I think it is not a straight fit into the ByByte 2DIN frame. The glass would require some cutting to fit into 2DIN frame.
So what's the verdict on this capacitive thing? Is it more responsive than resistive? Does it do multi-touch?
A couple of us have gotten pretty deep into discussion about this same topic here. I did a brief scan of this thread and I think the two work together but the other one has some answers to questions asked here.
Hmmm, could this capacitive glass be combined with a 701 that has already been modified to be transflective? Would it be possible to achieve the best of both worlds?
wrong thread. disregard

PROGRESS:
[-------90%-] (New Car=New Build)
I just purchased this one off eBay, the 701 with the capacitive screen. I'll answer any questions you guys want to ask when it arrives next week.
Why aren't these companies building their screens with capacitive panels already on them?
Very few companies manufacture capacitive touch screens and resistive touch screens are ridiculously inexpensive from an OEM standpoint. I guess it all boils down to cost.
