I searched, but couldn't find any info. Anyone tried this and can give their impressions? Any comparison photos in direct sun would be awesome.
I'm using the older Lilliput and I want to upgrade. It kind of sucks, especially when I see the new OEM screens.
yeah, i've seen those. they use the 3m controllers and panels which are supposed to be very good. keep in mind that they are single-touch capacitive. also, if you go down that path, make sure the controller he includes is the HID controller which supports Win7 touch, NOT simply the mouse emulator type most resistive controllers use.

After reading that thread I installed them on my carpc. Software needs to be written to support the new Win7 touch API and you get gestures like flicking through lists for "free" from the API. current carpc software doesn't support it though.

Yeah, I've seen those. I've been waiting for someone to try them out too, so I can't complain.
In theory, it should be less milky than resistive touch, which is on top of the screen and by itself reduces brightness (nits) by 15%. Now if it doesn't have ANY anti glare treatment, than I fear it's going to be useless anyway.
Have you tried asking the vendor some questions? Is he knowledgeable? That might help.

It's about a brand new unit, why doesn't he accept returns, money back after 7 days? Pretty shady if you ask me.

The latest version of the EBY701 isn't capacitive....if this is a process done to that unit he should be more specific as to what it is.
hes just putting the 3m panel over a new screen. i asked him if he would seel me just the panel and controller cause i already have a new screen. he said $149 plus shipping.
i may buy it next month and give it a shot not sure yet. but i know i have seen posts on where to buy the panel so thought i would let you guys know.
I was going to ask him the same thing. I may go that route too, although I'm running the old Lilliput, so an upgrade to that would be a good thing too.
My advice: either way go for it... i am working on upgrading my carpc's screen and I bought an 8.9" LED screen from this seller, he/she is very reliable, shipping was fast etc. His version had a resistive panel on it. I removed it, tested it with my 3m capacitive overlay (that had been sitting in my closet for MONTHS!!! :censored: ) and the result...? I will never go back to resistive EVER.
You will be more than satisfied once you test it on your bench, in the car it should be just as sweet once installed. I just wish i had done this earlier, because the difference is astronomical. You should ask the seller if the panel is optically bonded though (I'd be surprised but we never know...) the visibility would be :laser:
